Hello, I'm Fat Doctor, and I set up this blog for my friend Gayle. She may never post on this site, but she occasionally posts on mine, and I no longer allow anonymous posting.
Allow me to share the story of how we met...
The year was 1900 when an unnamed hurricane leveled most of Galveston Texas' buildings. The barometer dropped a record of 28.44 inches, and the tide had reached a record height of 15.2 feet above normal. I, an unhappy, fat secretary, clung to the nearest palm tree for dear life.
As I cried out to the heavens for mercy, Gayle came along. She feared no storm. She had a sense of calm about her as she swept me into her arms and carried me to safety. She knew God would protect us, and she wanted nothing more than to teach me that.
I listened a lot to Gayle over the next couple of years. I clung to her for shelter and security. Eventually, I was strong enough to let go of her hand. I still felt her when a cool wind sauntered by on a hot still day. I always felt her when a storm passed me by unharmed. We kept in touch, but she weathered her own storms as I weathered mine.
In the century or so that I've known since that fateful day when I felt her lift me away from a watery demise, I've never forgotten that a quiet force is stronger than a loud one.

I am here because FD told me to come. Nope, she doesn't know me, but hey, it's the internet!! That, and I'm avoiding work. Welcome to Blogger!!!
Gayle, you have GOT to post. Broken wrist notwithstanding! Hunt and peck with your other hand if you have to, after an intro like that, I have got to know the person behind it!
